Join the Friends of China Camp for a
Thanks to your support, China Camp is open! Come celebrate this community success with bike rides, nature walks, museum tours, a BBQ and great music at the park.
Parking is very limited at China Camp. Please ride your bikes to the event (valet bike parking will be available at China Camp Point - the parking and picnic area above the Village), or carpool. Except for those involved in the production of the event, or with special permission, the parking lots at China Camp Point and the Village will be closed to the public. You are welcome to park in any of the other parking lots within the park, or along North San Pedro Road where it is SAFE to park. We will provide in-the-park shuttle service along the road.
Mountain Bike Group Rides
Sports Basement will lead an intermediate/advance group ride at 10 a.m., and a beginner/intermediate group ride at 11:45 a.m. Both rides will leave from China Camp Point (the parking and picnic area above the Village) in the morning. Riders are welcome to use the Cannondale Jekyll bikes provided by Sports Basement, or use their own bikes. Riders are required to wear helmets for the rides.
Docent Led Nature Walks
The will be two nature walks, both starting from 10:30 a.m. and will last approximately 1 hour. The first walk will leave from Turtle Back, and will be led by docent Loretta. The second walk leave from the Village, and will be led by docent Cynda.
Our docents will be happy to give you a tour of the museum in the China Camp Village starting from 10 a.m.
We are planning a great BBQ at the Village: salmon, oysters, chicken, sirloin burger, veggie burger, plus salads and tasty desserts. Beer, wine, non-alcoholic drinks, and coffee will also be available. You will be able to purchase food and drinks starting around 11:30 a.m. All proceeds from your purchase will be used for the operation of the park.
Starting at 11:45 a.m., we will have 3 bands playing for us at the Village – The G’Wood Gents (11:45 a.m. – 12:40 p.m.), The Cole Tate Band with Lynn Asher (1:30 – 3:00 p.m.), and Mari Mack and Livin’ Like Kings (3:30 – 5 p.m.). In addition, Bob Gordon will play ukulele at 3 p.m. Come listen and dance to some great music by the San Pablo Bay all afternoon!
Art on Display
Local artists will be showing and selling their art including Plein Air Painters from DA GROUP, Giny Travers, Artist, and Laura Williams, Artist.
The Grand Prize for the raffle is a 2-night stay at the world renowned Ventana Inn in Big Sur! There will be many great prizes from Body Kinetics Marin, Le Chalet Basque, Mike's Bikes, Pelo Fitness, Sports Basement, and Terrapin Crossings as well.
